Pleasant Hill Garden Study Club   (grants@phgsc.com  )  
is now accepting applications for its Grant Program 


Ranging from $200 to $500, the grants will be for garden-related projects or educational programs

ELIGIBLE:
• The organization qualifies as a non-profit organization.
• Project or program is in Contra Costa County.
• Request does not exceed $500.
• Garden-related projects or educational programs with identifiable outcomes.
• Purchase of materials needed for garden or garden-related educational projects.

PROCESS:
• Grant applications may be submitted at any time.
• Applicants will be notified of their request outcome by March
• Grants will be awarded in April 
• Funds must be used within 12 months from receipt. 
• Recipients must submit a brief report with pictures documenting how the grant funds were used, no later than 1 year after receipt of funds.

EVALUATION CRITERIA:
• Priority will be given to programs and projects:
 in Pleasant Hill and PH Recreation and Park District.
• that provide a broad impact.
• that support an underserved population.

INELIGIBLE:
• Faith-based or private school.
• Individuals not affiliated with an organization meeting the above qualifications.
• Ongoing operating expenses, existing obligations, deficits, or retroactive funding.
• Endowments, fundraising, or celebration events.
• Previous grant recipients that did not submit a timely grant use report.  
• Groups that discriminate based on race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation or other.

The Pleasant Hill Garden Study Club (PHGSC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit business-public benefit, organized for the purpose of developing an interest in sustainable gardening practices that promote ecology, the environment and beautification of the community. The PHGSC operates under the auspices of the Pleasant Hill Recreation and Park District (PHRPD).
